Dryopteris championii Dicliptera This German introduction was discoveredDr. John Mickel describes Dryopteris championii as "another of my favorite ferns." This vigorous, deer resistant, 2' tall x 2' wide clump former has dark green, glossy, arching fronds that can reach nearly 3' long. Not only is Dryopteris championii evergreen, but the old fronds remain upright throughout the winter months all bets are off if you have too much winter precipitation.
